Shortly after prohibition was repealed in 1933, Vittorio “Vic” Giunco opened Vic’s Bar. After World War II ended, Vittorio Giunco and his son John Giunco opened Vic’s Bar & Restaurant March 17, 1947.

Vittorio and his family devoted their lives to creating the best Italian dishes and Pizza, in a casual setting. Over the years the thin crust tomato pies and signature Italian dishes they created helped the restaurant become one of the most popular restaurants on the Jersey shore.

Over the last 60 years, this 4th generation family business it is still owned and operated by the same family. They have carried on the traditions established by Vic and as a result, have continued to serve several generations of Jersey shore residents and vacationers alike.

After Vittorio passed away in 1967 his son John Giunco carried on the restaurants founding traditions. John worked for many years expanding and building on what Vittorio started. When John died he passed the restaurant and the tradition on to his daughter and son-in-law who have been a part of the business for over 40 years.
